Character Information
Hythlodaeus comes from a race of immortal beings known as Ancients. Gifted mages, they primarily used creation magic to shape the world around them and make their home, Etheirys a peaceful prosperous world. Being immortal they were able to live as long as they wanted, fulfilling what they deemed their purpose to the star before deciding to rejoin the life stream once they felt their purpose complete. hythlodaeus was Chief of the Bureau of the Architect, meaning he had final say in deciding what creations were viable and benefited the Star and which did not. He was also born with the rare gift to see aether and the color of a person's soul. Though he was not gifted with a talent for magics.
He grew up with his best friend Hades, later to be called Emet-Selch, and presumably with the person who would eventually become the sundered Warrior of Light. He saw them as people who could benefit the star more than he could and decided that his purpose was to support them in all their endeavors and then one day all three of them would return to the star forever. Unfortunately, that did not come to pass.
When the end of days came to their world, they were powerless to stop the calamity and the chaos their magic was thrown into. People were dying and the only solution they could think was to sacrifice a portion of the population to summon a god that would protect their world. Hythlodaeus volunteered to be one of those people, thinking he was doing it for the greater good. Letting those who were better than him come up with a solution and one day hopefully be reunited. That did not go as planned. The being they summoned, Zodiark would continue to require more sacrifices and a faction rose up against him, creating their own deity, Hydaelyn. A battle took place, and Hydaelyn prevailed, but in doing so sundered the world and its people into the Source and 13 shards, tearing everything apart. Hythlodaeus spent 12,000 years a shade of himself, in a waking dream, until his new old friend (the Warrior of Light) defeated Zodiark and his soul was finally allowed to rest and return to the life stream.

Appearance
Hythlodaeus is tall, standing at about 6'3. He's got a sturdy build but its overly muscular, more wirey than anything else. His hair is Lavendar and his eyes are also lavender with a glow to them. He has an open and friendly face and looks approachable.

Skills & Abilities
- Soul Sight: Hythlodaeus is eminently gifted in the ability to see beyond the physical world and behold the flow of aether, the life-force of the world, and of magic. He also has the ability to see the color of a person’s soul; even perceiving a person by their soul at a great distance, and once, spotting Azem from across the city of Amourat. He can also behold the underworld and the lifestream.
- Creation Magic: All Ancients can use creation magic, which is exactly what it sounds like- creating objects and beings out of aether. However, they cannot create anything with a soul. Hythlodaeus, though being one of the few with the rare ability of soul sight, he is significantly less adept at using creation magics. He can do simple things, like clothes or a weapon, but when compared to other ancients, he is basically very low-powered. He really only tries to use it when he absolutely has to.
- Teleportation: He can teleport. Usually a great distance, but for the sake of the game, I will be keeping it to very limited distances, if it even works at all.
- The Echo: He can use the aether around him to connect to another being or object, viewing memories of the past. I will communicate OOCly before using this. It also gives him the power to understand all beings regardless of language.
- Offensive Magic and combat support: Hythlodaeus is not a fighter, not having the same strength as others for magic; however, if pressed, he can hold his own. He is known as a “Soulseer” (a fancy Bard). He can create a bow and arrows out of aether and use basic bard spells, including some support spells. He can also use True Benediction to fully heal someone and True Resurrection to resurrect a person who is close to death but not actually dead. These abilities can be nerfed how ever the mods see fit.
